I had closed the blog for a little while with the intention of revamping the layout & starting with a clean slate. Unfortunately the plan has hit a few bumps and so has my production. If you're still watching and waiting ... hang in there.
PS
I had baby # 2 on April 15th ... that's been a major factor.

Me & my daughter's sketch book

So here we are with over 3 months and zero to sub-zero (pun intended New Yorkers) activity on the Snare blog. Well, long story short ... you're boy is playing Mr. Mom right now. But that does not mean that I'm not drawing ;)
My new fave media are these markers that my daughter owns called Crayola Beginnings Washable Triangular Markers. lol
Needless to say, I'm having a blast using them and need more of em so I don't feel so bad prying them out of her hands so I can draw! :)
Here are my 2 fave drawings from within my daughter's sketch/doodle book. The 1st is "Chirp" from Peep and the Big Wide World. The second is man, the myth, the legend: DJ Lance Rock from Yo Gabba Gabba. Notice her little touch-ups :)

doh!
My 2nd audition didn't go so well. My nerves and inexperience got the best of me. I could have read from the sheet music. I didn't think I could, so I kept messing up. Oh well.
Singing was not a requirement on the 1st audition. I didn't realize it was on the 2nd. I messed up there also.
Thanks for all the kind words yall. I'm not beating myself up over losing out on the chance of a lifetime. :(
Its only that the potential lead role slipped out of my hands.

My open call - "In The Heights"
I've been debating weather or not to post this. I'd really hate to jinx myself or start getting the evil eye from people I don't know and crazy Brujería curses & stuff like that. (Ever since Little League, I've been a bit superstitious.) But here it goes.
I got called back for a second audition for the leading role in the Broadway musical "In The Heights". Yes, this is no joke. Mind you, this is all by chance. I picked up the free AM-NY paper, and saw a little blurb about open auditions for a Latino that can rap. I'm (relatively) young. ;) So I said why not. This totally screamed out SNARE!
So in a nutshell, I went ... I spit my verse from "Wanna Be A Star" ... I did well ... I got an e-mail with the opening song that night. All I have to do is memorize it and we'll see how I do on day #2.
Stay tuned yall.
Peace.

kaNO ASPCA ad, spotted in AM-NY :)
So here I am reading AM-NY and I see some familiar handwriting.
The above pict is another one of KANO's ASPCA spots. But instead of dominating the side of a building in Harlem, this one just slips under the subconscious radar. I mean its crazy. Here I am on the #1 train this morning and then I see this ad, tucked right under the Knicks' box-score on pg 39. Talk about chills down the spine. How dope is that? :D

I've been away but ... take a sec to vote 'Quest' :)

If you're reading this, you are an awesome supporter of everything that is SNARE and have a few seconds to vote for my boy Quest's song. Yup, that's all. The drawings are still in my head :/
ps:
If you have not seen the video for the above song. Its right here for ya :)
